Key active ingredients:

Titanium Dioxide: an inert mineral used as a sunscreen ingredient in cosmetics. It has been scientifically proven to protect the skin from UVA and UVB radiation. Because it is gentle, it serves as an active sunscreen filter for sensitive or redness-prone skin. It is excellent for use around the eyes, as it is unlikely to cause stinging. Titanium dioxide is commonly micronized (nano) and coated for use in cosmetic products. Micronization makes it slightly heavier to the touch, which improves appearance and ease of application on the skin. Micronized titanium dioxide is photostable and may provide better sun protection than non-micronized titanium dioxide.

Zinc Oxide: Minerals such as zinc oxide are often used as inorganic physical sunscreen blockers. They are preferred over organic compounds that only absorb UV radiation. Advantages of inorganic-based sun protection include lack of irritation and sensitization, ingredient inertness, limited skin penetration, and broad-spectrum protection. The natural opacity of these small-sized sunscreen filter particles (white cast) is eliminated without reducing UV-blocking efficacy by using zinc nanoparticles. Because micronized titanium dioxide is most effective for UVB and micronized zinc particles cover UVA, the combination of the two oxides provides the required broad-spectrum UV protection.

Thermus Thermophillus Ferment (extract from gram-negative eubacteria): an antioxidant agent that neutralizes the negative effects of free radicals. Infrared (IR) radiation accounts for over 50% of solar radiation, generates heat increase, penetrates deeply into the skin, and negatively affects skin physiology. Venuceane™ combats IR-induced damage, prevents IR-induced stress, reduces inflammation, improves hydration, and maintains skin structure to limit wrinkle formation. In response to heat increase it offers proportional detoxifying actions and counteracts IR-generated ROS production.

Shea Butter: this plant lipid, extracted from the Karité tree, is used as an emollient in cosmetics and has smoothing properties for dry skin. Shea butter not only has a rich texture but is also a rich source of antioxidants.

How to use the product:

Apply an even layer of RAD SHIELD cream to the face, neck and décolletage and other areas of the body exposed to sunlight after applying your chosen Environ vitamin A moisturiser.

Reapplication is recommended (every 1.5–2 hours) to achieve optimal sun protection.

Suitable for application under make-up.

Warnings regarding use:

Use and precautions: Use as directed. For external use only. Do not swallow or ingest the bottle contents. Do not transfer to other containers. Do not use the product if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. We recommend an allergy patch test on the wrist or behind the ear. Not for use in children under 12 years of age. Do not apply to acutely inflamed skin requiring medical treatment or to damaged skin. Avoid contact with the eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. If an adverse reaction occurs, consult an ophthalmologist or general practitioner.

Storage: Keep out of reach of young children and animals. Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Do not use if the packaging is damaged. Prolonged exposure to the sun is not recommended even when using sunscreen. Excessive sun exposure causes skin damage. Decreasing the amount of sunscreen applied will significantly reduce your protection. Keep infants and children out of direct sunlight. If any irritation occurs, stop use. Consult a skincare specialist and/or physician if irritation does not subside. Avoid contact with the eyes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse gently with lukewarm water. Avoid if you have any allergy to the ingredients.
